1,000 Acts of Kindness
If singing loud for all to hear isn’t your ideal way to spread holiday cheer, we understand.
It’s easy to fall into a “bah, humbug” mood just because seasonal hustle and bustle can be overwhelming. But that’s not how it should be, right?
So take a few deep breaths and keep reading.
What if we asked ourselves “how can I help?” and acted on the answer. What if we worked at being better with a capital B? What if we all shut out all the noise and just focused on one little thing — showing some kindness to a fellow human? Bringing more kindness into the world doesn’t necessarily take a lot of time or even any money. But it does take all of us.
That’s the idea behind Elevate’s “1,000 Acts of Kindness.” We are celebrating the Elevate community from now until Jan. 15 and we are hoping you to “pay it forward.”
Here’s how it works.
Members are getting a card containing stickers in the mail. Show some kindness three times and write each one on the sticker. They will be posted at Elevate. You are also invited to share your experiences via social media….don’t forget to tag — #elevatephw #1000actsphw

Paying it forward is a very old idea. Benjamin Franklin believed and practiced it. Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote of it. Some believe it dates from the Greek playwright Menander in the 300s B.C. Most recently, it was made popular in a 1999 novel by Catherine Ryan Hyde and a popular film released the next year. Both bore the title that crystalizes the concept: Pay It Forward.
You may be thinking “I am only one person” and that’s true. But you can do something. You have the ability to make a difference, one act of kindness at at time.
And when you live your life with courage and kindness, life will be good to you.
